  • San Miguel volcano, located in central-eastern El Salvador, is increasing its activity since 15 November with explosions, gas and water vapor emissions, and ash fall.
  • The Directorate General of the Observatory of Threats and Natural Resources of El Salvador, reports at least 86 explosions and 70 volcanic earthquakes. The maximum recorded height of the ash plume reached up to 1,100 m.
  • The authorities asked to suspend any activities within a 2 km radius, and the people nearby the volcano (particularly in the municipalities of San Jorge, Chinameca, and San Rafael Oriente) have been recommended to follow the local response plan (including the evacuation routes) in case of emergency.
